Why I Sleep Best After My Alarm Goes Off

What years of broken sleep taught me about cortisol, Brown bodies, and the one thing that finally changed everything.

The alarm went off at 8am. As it always did.

I rolled over, skipped the negotiation stage, and hit snooze. And in the next 30 minutes, I fell into the deepest, most satisfying sleep of the entire night. The kind where you actually dream. The kind where your body finally exhales. The kind I had been chasing for hours.

This was my sleep for years. I would lie awake not because I was busy but because I was scared. Scared of what was sitting in my inbox. Scared of what my manager had said to me that day.
